The First Ultra Sound

First off I suck and I am sorry. I actually had my u/s on September 23rd and I am just now updating here, but anyway here goes.

I had an appointment with Dr. Roach at 10:40. We got there about 5 minutes before that and actually got called back pretty quickly. After in the exam room it felt like it took forever. She actually started to come in and then said or sorry wrong room and went back out. Booo. Thankfully P was there with me so I didn't have to pass the time alone. When we finally got in the u/s room it all went pretty fast. Found the baby no problem, good heart beat and everything went fine. It was nice to be able to hear the baby's heart beat, although I didn't really see it beating. The baby measure 6 weeks exactly giving me a due date of May 20th.

Here are the 2 pictures I got:

and this one shows the heart beat on the bottom

I also had a nurses visit with my OB on October 2nd, but it is nothing to really talk about. I have an appointment with the OB on Tuesday, October 7th and I will have my second ultra sound then. I am looking forward to it and I am glad it is not too far away.

The BFP!!

Well, My BFP story is kind of a strange one I guess. I had been charting and fertility friend had shown me ovulating on cycle day 8, which is completely crazy. Once I was about 12 or 13 days past ovulation they changed my ovulation date to cycle day 17. If I had ovulated on cycle day 17 there was no chance at all that I could be pregnant so I didn't really think much more about it.
Fast forward to Friday, September 5 just on a whim I decided to take a HPT. As I was sitting there waiting for the digital pregnancy test to spit out it's answer I was thinking to myself that I just wasted yet another test. I *knew* what it was going to say and I was just being silly for even taking the darn thing. Imagine my surprise when I found this staring back at me Photobucket
I was in complete shock and disbelief. So much so that about a half an hour later I took another and got this:

Just for good measure I took another one the next day and guess what . . . it said the same exact thing. I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!!!

How I got here.

After conceiving all my 3 daughters very easily I found myself facing infertility when we decided to try for baby #4. After a year of trying on our own I went to my OB/GYN. He found that I had not returned to ovulating after stopping Depo Provera over a year earlier. It was than that I went on Clomid. I was on and off of Clomid for 5 cycles until I decided to seek the help of an RE. My RE left me on Clomid and added Metformin. I did 1 round of Metformin alone and 3 rounds of a Clomid/ Met combo. The last cycle of the combo we also did a trigger shot and IUI, but it was unsuccessful. I had became very frustrated with the way my body was reacting to the medications so I decided to take some time off and give my body a break. About 3 months later I decided to give baby aspirin a try since I had heard so much about it and that was the cycle I finally got pregnant. I set this blog up to allow all of those who stood by me through that rough time in my life to follow the events of my pregnancy along with me.
